The Depreciation Guild Set To Release Sophomore Record

MP3: The Depreciation Guild – Dream About Me

The Depreciation Guild, a shoegaze trio from Brooklyn, have announced the release of their second record, Spirit Youth, on May 18.  I just recently heard about this band through their connection with one of my favourite NYC bands of the last year, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.  The band’s debut record, In Her Gentle Jaws, is a hazy, 8-bit heavy record, and from the sounds of their last 7″, they’ll be moving closer and closer to a smooth, pop sound.  Either way, if the record has anything that sounds like “Dream About Me”, I’m going to be hooked.

Check out the band in Vancouver when they hit The Media Club with Serena Maneesh on March 27.
