Alice is waiting….Down in a Hole!
February 18th, 2010 | Posted by Drummer JohnTime to Say Goodbye….is an extradordinary track! It incorporates many different sounds that blend so well that most won’t even realize it, it just flows. The vocals go so, so well with the music because he writes it, from everything he has. He, Jan, is soo talented in every area of the music lover’s world. There is NOTHING he can’t write, nothing. I know because we have collaborated on one song already and I am about to have it put down and you may just be hearing it soon! Keep your fingers crossed! It will be released in either Blues or Indie,Folk/Blues. Which is really making a big comeback! Down in a Hole will be one of the bands leading this crusade of bringing back the basics that we all started out loving in the first place. The vocals just cannot be described in one category. Just as the music cannot, guess that’s why some want to tag it alternative. It’s all just music to me. It’s either good or bad and that is how I listen. If it makes me want to gouge out my friggin eyeballs within the first 5 seconds and I can’t find the stop button fast enough, then no, I don’t care for it but I’m not gonna get on here and down it either. Who am I to say what makes a person feel something in that kind of music? I’m not. So I don’t judge. It obviously has enough of a following that alot of it is getting on the air (I can’t believe) and then I find artist, yes artist, like this and just have to scratch my head and wonder? Have a beer and listen to my playlist of this and chill out….relate. No matter what kind of day you’ve had, he has a song for you. He sings about life. Yours, his, mine, everyone’s. He can put down on paper what we, sometimes even as writers, cannot put down because he hears it in his head and it flows from the tiniest seed in his mind into the awesomeness of “You Won’t be Coming Home” and “Fade Away”. The song on his page, link below, “Just Call My Name” is very special to me. My father, my hero, the only man I could ever depend on, passed in Nov of last year after an excruciating battle with bone cancer. I spent many hours corresponding with Jan and getting all my delerium out, my frustration, my tiredness, all of it. He was there for me with words of encouragement or just to listen if that was what I needed. He is truly a wonderful person. These conversations inspired the song on his page “Just Call My Name”, and it is not only a beautiful, innocent good bye, it’s exactly what my dad wanted from us. “Sorrow is What Remains” takes it a little harder and he is optimal at that also! There is no doubt that all the ingredients are there. The band is constantly laying out new tracks and adding them to the page and he blogs very well also on his creative ideas, an inspiration to other up and coming bands. I would not bullshit you about music, ever. And Down in a Hole is gonna be all over the airwaves, hopefully soon! Let’s show Jan some love on his page! Thanks for the time to read and please leave a response if you liked the music!
